Realogics Sotheby's International Realty Announces New Art Gallery with LightArt® In Downtown Kirkland Branch Office
Kirkland, Washington (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- Today, Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty announced a partnership with Seattle-based LightArt ® to showcase their luminous creations within a hybrid real estate showroom, retail art gallery, and DeLille Cellars wine bar called Maison DeLille at 15 Lake Street in downtown Kirkland. The showroom will open on March 1, 2014.
“Working with LightArt has been an illuminating experience and we’re simply elated with their installation,” said Dean Jones, Owner of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty. “Our showroom is designed to attract the connoisseurs of life and provide our retail partners a high profile exposure platform on the Eastside.”
LightArt, a division of 3form, is a custom lighting fabrication and design studio based in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. Every fixture is handmade by a team of local artisans, with products ranging from a simple wall sconce to a 35’ tall custom chandelier. By cutting, heating, and forming resin panels into both computer-generated and freeform designs, LightArt leverages its UL certified lighting fabrication shop to bring to life built-to-order fixtures that are limited only by one’s imagination.
From concept to completion, LightArt collaborated with Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty to design a unique work called “Sea Change – Light in Motion,” a 45-foot long sculptural installation that weaves through the central gathering room and flourishes within the retail space. A cluster of beautiful blossom pendants, two giant LED rings in the lobby, and a signature, 8-foot chandelier in the Grand Hall were also installed, adding to the unique atmosphere of the space.
“We’re grateful for this opportunity to showcase our works within such a prime retail location on the Eastside – I couldn’t be more pleased with how well everything turned out,” said Ryan Smith, Creative Director and President of LightArt. “This venture will help LightArt explore more residential applications and of course, we look forward to host participating in special events exposing our work to a much broader audience.”
To share the journey of LightArt and to chronicle their most recent collaboration with Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, a video biography has been produced called “Following the Light.” This video has been posted to each partner website.
“My first works were made in my kitchen oven,” muses Smith. “Fast forward ten years and we now have a state-of-the-art, 26,000 square foot studio with 34 employees. Our experienced team is capable of envisioning and building custom light fixtures and sculptural artwork out of a broad array of resin panels and LED lighting components. The possibilities are endless.”
Local opinion leaders have been watching the development of LightArt and their recent installation in what’s being dubbed the “Connoisseurs of Life Showroom” with great interest.
“Ryan Smith and his team are an incredible talent and LightArt is yet another attraction on display in the heart of downtown Kirkland,” says Ellen Miller-Wolfe, Economic Development Manager with the City of Kirkland. “The Connoisseurs of Life Showroom enjoys perhaps the most visible pedestrian retail storefront in Kirkland and to have it be filled with artisan crafts and provide cultural interest is music to my ears. I believe this dynamic enterprise will be very successful.”
