Ken Schwenke, Founder & CEO, Directors' Institute

We formed The Directors’ Institute because we heard time and again from seasoned professionals that they wanted to add their expertise to a board, but had no idea how to find the board openings or even make the connections which would open those doors.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) March 04, 2014

Ken Schwenke, Founder and CEO of The Directors’ Institute, a newly formed non-profit which offers resources to help prospective directors join their first public, private or charitable board, will be a featured speaker at The Executive Next Practices Institute (ENP), an innovation think tank for C-level business executives to review new leadership and business strategies.

Along with Ernst & Young and Global Business News, they will present “New York Next Practices Forum On Global Business, Talent and Market Challenges 2014” on March 7 at the Ernst & Young National Headquarters in New York.

“We formed The Directors’ Institute because we heard time and again from seasoned professionals that they wanted to add their expertise to a board, but had no idea how to find the board openings or even make the connections which would open those doors,” said Schwenke. “We found a way to help people combine their networks with data on current board members that is often not on LinkedIn or other social networking sites. With an estimated 45,000 board seats turning over in the next decade, executives who use these tools now to maximize their opportunities will, we believe, have the greatest success. I look forward to sharing my insights with the attendees.”

The interactive session also includes Tom Vines, Vice President of HR, IBM Corporation; Nancy Board, Senior Healthcare Director, Global Corporate Challenge; Scott Hamilton, President and CEO, Executive Next Practices Institute and NextWorks™; Oleg Smirnoff, Principal, Smirnoff Associates; and W. Cecyl Hobbs, SVP, marketing and business development, Activate Networks, Inc.

The panelists will discuss the 2014 Global Market & Talent Forecast: Who is Hiring and New Customer Growth Sectors; International Business – What You Should Know About Partnering; Thought Leader Panel Share Global Business Implementation Strategies; and Emerging Trends in Board and C-suite structures, relations and opportunities.

The session will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Ernst & Young National Headquarters — 5 Times Square, New York City. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. A pre-conference welcome reception will take place at Beekman Towers Hotel, 3 Mitchell Place, on March 6, 6pm-9pm. To register, visit http://www.enpinstitute.com/events.
