Columbia, MD (PRWEB) March 05, 2014
Ms. Serena Chen was personally invited to Government House, the home of the Governor. There, she was able to interact with influential members of the Asian community along with the United States-China Association of Commerce. Mr. O’Malley spoke of the growing Chinese and local community and his hope to connect the many different aspects of the diverse population in Maryland. By creating a strong internal structure with connections between those who work in business, education, health, law, and politics, the strength of the community can grow as a whole.
Ms. Chen was available to make a statement: “The Chinese community is one that is growing stronger every day. Portner & Shure recognizes the potential of this community and seeks to support those who have brought us so much success.”
The attorneys at Portner & Shure are proud to support not only the Chinese community, but also, as Mr. O’Malley described, the rich diversity here in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC Metro area. As a firm who recognizes the importance of supporting these diverse and growing cultures within the area, Portner & Shure caters to clients who speak Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese. The native-speaking multilingual paralegals at the firm understand the legal system and are able to communicate the intricacies of the law to our clients. Oftentimes, attorneys hire interpreters to assist them with non-English speaking clients, but these interpreters frequently miss the minutiae that can make or break a case. Portner & Shure’s multilingual paralegals, with their native speaking skills combined with their understanding of the law, are equipped to see the details that are often lost in translation. Portner & Shure has been an establishment within the Chinese community for over 20 years and continually works to better serve and bolster the diversity of the local area.
