Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) March 03, 2014
Planet Québec returns to South by Southwest (SXSW) 2014 with its fourth edition showcasing some of the most outstanding musical talent, exciting young filmmakers and inventive technology the province has to offer. Québec’s breakout bands will hold court at Maggie Mae’s (6th & Trinity) with exciting SXSW Music day party presentations and an evening of showcases, taking over both floors of the popular Austin venue. SXSW Film will feature two Québec narrative short films in competition as well as a feature length film world premiere by one of Montreal’s very own. Last but not least, several interactive projects and companies are in contention for awards at the prestigious SXSW Interactive conference.
“We’re very excited about the breadth and depth of talent participating this year under the Planet Québec umbrella,” says Isabelle Pont who manages music and entertainment grant programs for SODEC, the cultural enterprise development arm of the Québec government. “South by Southwest gives us a vast arena in which to display that talent to an international audience. We have so many wonderful bands, tech companies and films this year and expect it to be one of the best yet.”
