The Publicare Email Analysis 2014 for the USA: Which Providers Are Most Frequently Used for B2C Emails in the U.S.?

Publicare analyzed which providers are used most frequently when consumers in the United States sign up to receive marketing emails. Yahoo ranks number one with 30.4 % - followed by Google (24.2 %), Microsoft (15.5 %) and AOL (6.4 %).

Publicare Marketing Communications, an online marketing and consulting firm, has analyzed over 35 million anonymized data sets in order to find out which providers are most frequently used for consumer marketing emails in the United States.

The results include: Yahoo! and Google together provide more than 50 % of all email accounts. Among telecommunications companies, AT&T provides the most actively used email addresses.

Below are the Top 10 email providers used by U.S. consumers:

  • Yahoo – 30.4 %
  • Google – 24.2 %
  • Microsoft – 15.5 %
  • AOL – 6.4 %
  • AT&T – 3.4 %
  • Comcast – 2.5 %
  • Time Warner Cable – 1.3 %
  • Verizon – 0.9 %
  • Cox Communications – 0.8 %
  • Apple – 0.5 %

All anonymized data sets for this email analysis originated from real contact lists for U.S. consumer campaigns that were launched in 2013. Publicare selected the data to analyze in such a manner that it reflects a wide selection of consumer product ranges and target groups, to make it as representative as possible.
