Nierman Practice Management is bringing together not only the practical applications of implementing sleep medicine into the dental office, but the importance of practice management and medical billing as well.
Jupiter, FL (PRWEB) March 07, 2014
The field of dental sleep medicine has grown tremendously as more dentists look for ways to differentiate their practices. Now, dentists are looking for solutions to help take their sleep practices to the next level. Dental sleep medicine educators for over 25 years, Dr. Glassman and Ms. Nierman have incorporated unique teaching tools into their advanced dental sleep medicine course to ensure dentists and their staff gain the skills needed to manage challenges that practices may experience when treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
In addition to in-depth literature and case reviews, topics included in this advanced course are:
- Understanding the importance of setting patient expectations from the first meeting
- Dispelling misconceptions about treatment “failures”
- Understanding the difference between dental and medical models
- Common medical billing challenges
- How bruxism and occlusion play a role in sleep apnea
When asked how he felt about being a part of the Nierman Seminars, Dr. Glassman had this to say, “Nierman Practice Management is bringing together not only the practical applications of implementing sleep medicine into the dental office, but the importance of practice management and medical billing as well. If you don’t bring the team together to educate them on all aspects of adding this medical model into the dental practice, then you are setting yourself up for failure.” Dr. Glassman’s dental practice is devoted to medically necessary procedures including sleep apnea, TMD, and cranio-facial pain and understands the challenges most dentists will experience when adding these types of procedures to their practice.
Dr. Barry Glassman, located in Allentown, PA, maintains a private practice which is limited to chronic pain management, temporomandibular joint dysfunction and dental sleep medicine. A Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and the American Academy of Pain Management, as well as a Fellow of the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics and the Academy of Dentistry International, he is also on staff at the Lehigh Valley Hospital where he serves as a resident instructor of Craniofacial Pain and Dysfunction and Dental Sleep Medicine. He is on the staff at the Sacred Heart Hospital Sleep Disorder Center, as well as serving as the Chief Dental Consultant to three other sleep centers in the Lehigh Valley. For his dedication to education, Dr. Glassman has been awarded the prestigious Haden-Stack award, given by the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.
25 years ago, Rose Nierman laid the foundation for dentists billing medical insurance when she wrote the first medical billing in dentistry manual.
