Six Welch Group Nursing Centers Awarded 5-Star Quality Rating

Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group’s South Shore nursing centers recently received a 5-Star Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Nursing homes receiving five stars, the highest quality rating, were evaluated in each of the following three areas: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.

The six Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group rehabilitation and nursing centers located in Massachusetts are listed in the 2014 edition of Best Nursing Homes, published online by U.S. News & World Report. They include: Bay Path Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Duxbury, Colonial Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Weymouth, Duxbury House Alzheimer’s Care Center in Duxbury, Hancock Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Quincy, Harbor House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Hingham and John Scott House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Braintree. The rating system was created to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily.

For the fifth year in a row, Duxbury House, a specialized 23-bed Alzheimer’s and memory care center, received an overall 5-Star Quality Rating. Additionally, Hancock Park in Quincy, a 142-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing center, scored a 5-star rating for the fourth year in a row. And Colonial in Weymouth, a 173- bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing center, scored a 5-star rating for the third year in a row.

Additionally the company’s first assisted living community Allerton House at Central Park in Weymouth will celebrate its 15th anniversary. “We credit the 5-Star Award to the Welch Group’s experienced and compassionate staff – many of whom are 20 and 30-year employees,” adds Welch.
