It’s tough to top the success the Pinehurst area had in 2005 hosting the Men’s U.S. Open Championship. More spectators attended than any other U.S. Open before or since.

Southern Pines, NC (PRWEB) March 10, 2014

It is estimated the Pinehurst Area will host approximately 400,000 spectators during the 2014 U.S. Men’s and Women’s Open Championships. The Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has stepped up to the challenge with several new features to assist spectators, volunteers, and others with lodging and golf during those historic two weeks in June.

In partnership with the Pinehurst - Southern Pines Area Association of Realtors (PSPAAR), the MLS can now provide information to those seeking lodging in private homes during the Opens. A link to the tool can be found on the CVB’s website at http://webhosts.ihouseelite.com/AR472168/Home/index/. Surrounding counties also have their available lodging options posted on the website.

And for those who want to play a round or two, local golf courses are taking tee times now and you can plan your schedule at http://www.homeofgolf.com/2014-us-open/tee-times-during-the-2014-us-open. Pack your bags and enjoy some golf before, during, and after the pros play.

It’s tough to top the success the Pinehurst area had in 2005 hosting the Men’s U.S. Open Championship. More spectators attended than any other U.S. Open before or since. In 2014, with the U.S. Women’s Championship following directly after the men’s championship is upping the ante for the area to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for spectators and visitors to the Pinehurst Area.

Together with the other services the CVB will be providing to support the USGA this June, the first-ever back-to-back U.S. Open Championships will set another benchmark for future hosts and venues.
