Miami, FL (PRWEB) March 11, 2014

For the third consecutive year, J.D. Power ranks AvMed highest in member satisfaction among Florida health plans. In this year’s study, AvMed grabbed the highest regional score in a tie, securing another honor for its renowned member-focused efforts.

“Delivering superior member satisfaction is always our top priority,” said Michael P. Gallagher, AvMed President and CEO. “This honor reflects our success to date—and we’re only getting better.”

The 2014 survey is based on the responses of 34,315 members in 138 health plans throughout the United States. Among the 138 health insurance plans evaluated, 136 are eligible for ranking. Conducted across 18 market-based regions, these plans represent more than 90% of the nation's commercial health maintenance organization (HMO); preferred provider organization (PPO); and point of service (POS) plans, according to industry data source Mark Farrah Associates. “At AvMed, we’re committed to building a unique member experience that we feel only we can deliver,” said James M. Repp, AvMed Senior Vice President. “Working with our providers, we’re putting the member at the center of the healthcare experience, exactly where the member belongs.”

Last week, J.D. Power also honored AvMed as one of its 50 U.S. Customer Champions for 2014. To qualify for inclusion on that distinguished list of customer service standouts, a company must excel not only within its own industry, but also among the nine industries J.D. Power includes in its Customer Champions analysis. To determine the J.D. Power 2014 Customer Champions, J.D. Power examined five factors, including: People, Presentation, Process, Product, and Price.
