Daon, a leading provider of identity assurance and verification software, today announced significant momentum for Daon Trusted Identity Services (DTIS), which has been awarded 50 new airport contracts in the past 12 months.
Daon Trusted Identity Services is a joint venture between Daon and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) to facilitate the efficient and secure processing of background checks for aviation workers. Federal regulations require aviation workers to pass both biographical and biometrically-based background checks prior to receiving airport credentials. DTIS operates the nation’s largest civilian clearinghouse for fingerprint, biometric and biographic processing, providing airports with a cost-effective and expedient partner.
“Reliable and efficient background checks remain critical to mitigating the insider threats facing our nation’s aviation system,” said Todd Hauptli, CEO of AAAE. “Daon has proven to be an essential technology partner, ensuring the secure channeling of biographic and biometric data for more than one million aviation workers.”
Serving markets well beyond the aviation industry, DTIS provides identity management services to organizations including Citi, the Alabama Department of Human Resources and the U.S. Registered Traveler Program. Since inception, DTIS has facilitated more than five million biometrically-based background checks and two million biographical background checks.
“For the past nine years DTIS has prided itself on providing industry-leading biometric and identity management expertise to our nations airports and airlines,” said Tom Grissen, CEO, Daon. “More than 400 commercial airports rely on DTIS services to vet their employees, and our partners can trust in DTIS to get this done in the most accurate, secure and efficient manner.”
