FirstService Residential Mid-Atlantic, the leading community management company in New Jersey, announced Executive Director Jim Magid, PCAM, CMCA, LSM was awarded the Jerome M. Fien Distinguished Service Award by the New Jersey Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI-NJ). Magid was honored for many years of service to both CAI-NJ and CAI National. This award honors the work of Jerry Fien, a homeowner member of CAI-NJ, who was a dedicated advocate for Community Association Volunteer Leaders throughout the country.
Magid has a long history of service to CAI and has held numerous leadership positions including serving on the Board of Directors (2002-2005), CAI-NJ President (2005), Public Relations Committee (2000-2001), and Membership Committee (1995-1998), where he served as Committee Chair in 1995. He currently chairs the Legislative Action Committee upon which he has been active member since 2006, and is in his second two year term on the CAI National APCM Board.
“Jim is a tireless supporter of CAI and can be seen everywhere from the CAI National Conference, to the CAI-NJ networking events, educational programs and the Chapter’s Conference and Expo,” said Nina Stanton, 2013 CAI-NJ Chapter President. “Jim was recognized and is well-deserving of this award for his dedication to and untiring support of CAI, and especially the New Jersey Chapter.”

Magid has been involved in the professional community management business for over 25 years and has been FirstService Residential associate for the past 17 years. His responsibilities have included executive management of two regional offices with oversight of approximately 70 communities and a staff of 45. Currently he is the Executive Director at a large scale community situated on 2,500 acres with 910 homes, and extensive amenities including a lake and restaurant.
