Blackbeard Data Services Releases Report of the Demographics of Texas Oil and Gas Ownership

Blackbeard Data Services, the foremost data provider for Texas lease ownership data has released its annual 2014 Texas Petro-Wealth report. The report concludes that Texas currently contains $140 billion of proved producing reserves. The report plotted the distribution of wealth by owner entity type. The report concluded that corporations hold over $112 billion dollar in the total petro-wealth in Texas with individuals holding $20 billion, trusts accounting for $4.6 billion and the rest of the petro-wealth distributed among educational institutions, non-profits government agencies, and religious organizations.

The report also includes the top 20 cities holding Texas petro-wealth. Houston, Texas came in as the number one city with a petro-wealth worth of $47 billion with Midland, Texas coming in second with over $14 billion. The other cities included in no particular order are Amarillo, Austin, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Denver, Tulsa, and Birmingham just to name a few.
