Addressing the 2014 National Convention of the Independent Community Bankers of America® in Honolulu, ICBA president and CEO Camden R. Fine cited Malvern-based Meridian Bank for its dedication to the communities it serves.

Fine stated that community bankers’ principles are what set them apart from others in the financial industry “This commitment to faith, fairness and responsibility is why community banks have had such success.”

Examples of Meridian Bank’s active community support include a five-year $250,000 pledge to Habitat for Humanity of Chester County and EITC contributions of $225,000 and $200,000 respectively in 2012 and 2013, to educational support organizations in its service area. The Bank is a member of Community Lenders and participates in that organization’s loan pools to provide financing for community development and revitalization projects in the Delaware Valley region of PA. In 2013 the Bank also made a $1,000,000 investment in the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation to fund the sponsorship of their programs in a local senior housing facility.
