LearningMate Solutions, the world’s leading supplier of content and technology solutions for the education market, announced this morning the addition of Lisa Panka as K-12 Editorial Director.
The company, who celebrated its 10th anniversary last October, is expanding its editorial services, which have previously focused exclusively on Higher Ed, to include K-12.
“Over the past year, our content business has seen an increase in the number of K-12 projects coming in. This is driven by common core and the shift in K-12 education standards; our clients need to align their strategies to accommodate those standards. We recognized it was time to establish a K-12 Editorial Division to better serve these needs,” said Prasad Mohare, Vice President, Publishing. “We were looking for someone with a really strong math & science as well as an English & language arts background. Lisa had a winning combination with experience in both.”
As head of the K-12 Editorial division, Panka will oversee LearningMate’s K-12 content development projects and will work with the company’s clients to provide high-quality curriculum. In addition, Panka will supervise LearningMate’s K-12 editorial staff, including Executive Editors, Editors, and a large pool of freelance resources.
Panka, a former educator, comes to LearningMate with more than 15 years experience serving various editorial roles in the K-12 space including Director of Reading and Language Arts Editorial as well as Senior Subject Editor for Math and Science. Panka holds a Masters in Elementary Education Administration from Northeastern Illinois University and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology form Barat College.
