The 5th Annual New Media Film Festival is proud to announce these 7 New Media Projects which are early selections for programming at the 5th New Media Film Festival June 10 & 11th 2014 in Los Angeles CA.
These projects were chosen for their creativity, artistic excellence, and compelling narratives. They represent the cutting edge of New Media production, and are the culmination of forward thinking, persistence, and passion. Several categories are represented in this round of programming, including Art On Wall, 3D, Animation, Mobile/Tablet, Digital Comic, Music Video, and Shorts.

Running real time in the Unity 3D game engine, Unplugged is an animated film short created by the Mixamo team. Taking viewers through the story of a boy breaking free from a meaningless and dreary life, Unplugged demonstrates the kind of quality that anyone can now achieve with Unity, Face Plus, and a creative concept.

THE MACHINE STOPS Dir. Michael Lent
TMS Is a three issue comic book series adapted by writer Michael Lent and artist Marc Rene from the EM Forster short story, “The Machine Stops.” The story describes a world in which humans have lost the ability to live on the surface of the Earth. They dwell below the earth in vast colonies of individual pods where nearly all life functions and interaction with others is through the Machine.

The New Media Film Festival is still accepting submissions, the deadline for which is May 1st 2014 by midnight. The categories are: Animation, Digital Comics, Documentary, Feature, LGBT, Machinima, Mobile/Tablet, Music Video, New Media, New Media Scripts, Pilot, Shorts, Shot on RED, Sniplers, SRC- Socially Responsible Content, STEAM-Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Student, Trailers, Web Series. Each submission will be considered for Screening, Distribution Opportunities & Competition with over $45,000 in awards given out annually.
New Media Film Festival's Founder/Director – Susan Johnston is an Award Winning Producer and is a Global Speaker on New Media, Social Media & Incremental Monetization in the Digital Space. She will be speaking at NAB on April 9th at 3PM in Vegas.
