With so many outstanding nominations for just 35 awards, Akhila is indeed in rare company.
Denver, CO (PRWEB) March 25, 2014
Aspen Advisors, a U.S.-based healthcare consulting firm, announced today that one of its associates, Akhila Skiftenes, was awarded a Rising Star of the Profession award by Consulting magazine. Skiftenes was honored as the healthcare industry category award winner. The publication cited Skiftenes’ work addressing some of healthcare’s most pressing initiatives as one of the reasons she stood out in the eyes of the editorial committee. This included her work co-leading ICD-10 assessments, helping clients determine their approaches for their Meaningful Use attestation, building project prioritization and resource models for clients’ IT strategic plans, and effectively planning for the IT component of mergers and acquisitions. Skiftenes also took a leadership role in developing a Total Cost of Ownership Toolkit to compare vendor costs and resources, an essential element of Aspen’s System Selection Methodology.
“Consulting’s Rising Stars of the Profession winners feature an impressive array of movers, shakers, and wunderkinds — leaders all who tend to deflect praise and prefer to credit those around them,” said Joe Kornik, Consulting editor-in-chief. “In simplest terms, they want to change the world – or at least leave it in much better shape than they found it. They are, in a word, redefining the consulting profession. With so many outstanding nominations for just 35 awards, Akhila is indeed in rare company.”
“Akhila’s financial background and consulting acumen have made her a go-to resource for addressing some of healthcare’s most critical challenges,” said Daniel Herman, Managing Principal at Aspen Advisors. “She has made important contributions to client success and developed tools that benefit future client efforts. Her contributions also extend beyond her consulting assignments; she mentors other rising stars by serving as an advisor to the Health Systems Management Club at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management and provides strategic direction as a board member for the Ragapriya School of Music.”
“I’m honored to receive this recognition and credit my mentors and advocates at Aspen,” said Skiftenes. “Right from the start, the stretch opportunities I have been given have enabled me to learn and grow in my consulting career. By delivering outcomes valued by clients, I’ve been provided new challenging engagements to help clients address the rapidly changing healthcare landscape.”
