AirBuds Teams Up With Amazon Fulfillment

"Not only are they incredibly efficient at packaging and shipping products, but they do so in a way that minimizes their impact on the environment. Our mutual commitment to 'green' business practices made this a very easy transition."

Los Angeles (PRWEB) March 31, 2014

This month, in an effort to improve the environmental sustainability of their company, AirBuds, creator of The Most Comfortable Earbuds, has launched an initiative to 'go green'. By teaming with Amazon and completely revamping their fulfillment practices, this young, quickly-growing company has taken great strides toward decreasing their carbon footprint.

As part of their 'green' initiative, AirBuds has drastically simplified their fulfillment process. All production and packaging now takes places in their supply centers, rather than in two separate facilities, as before. From there, the AirBuds are sent directly to Amazon for fulfillment. All orders, regardless of where they originated, will now ship directly from Amazon's warehouses to the customer.

"At AirBuds, we are constantly striving to better-serve our customers," said Nick Waterhouse, CEO and founder of AirBuds, "And we simply cannot do this without also examining the environmental impact of our business. By teaming with Amazon and streamlining the way we package and ship our product, we are able to dramatically reduce our carbon footprint."

This streamlining of fulfillment eliminates any unnecessary shipping and the huge environmental impact such a practice can have. Shipping any product from one place to another has an impact on the air, soil, water and climate. By limiting shipping, AirBuds will now use less fossil fuel and create less packaging waste in order to reach customers.

AirBuds' decision to transfer fulfillment to Amazon stemmed from Amazon's nationally-acclaimed commitment to sustainability. Their facilities are among some of the most environmentally friendly in the country, with 6 of their urban campuses boasting awards from the US Green Building Council for their sustainable design and construction methods. All of their products are packaged using partially-recycled materials that are, themselves, 100% recyclable.

"We are very excited to be teaming up with Amazon," Waterhouse said. "Not only are they incredibly efficient at packaging and shipping products, but they do so in a way that minimizes their impact on the environment. Our mutual commitment to 'green' business practices made this a very easy transition."

AirBuds has always been conscious of their environmental impact and has created their product with that in mind. Their product packaging is 100% recyclable and designed to create as little waste as possible. The AirBuds themselves are compliant under the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive, which aim to eliminate hazardous chemicals from products and also make businesses accountable for the reuse, recycling and recovery of their products.
