Backblaze, providers of the only $5 per month unlimited online backup service, today announced an update to Backblaze Mobile, adding search to make it even easier for customers to find and access their backed up files via their iPhone. Backblaze Mobile is free to all Backblaze customers. Backblaze will be showcasing their updated mobile app and online backup service this week at Macworld/iWorld 2014 in San Francisco.

Backblaze Mobile enables customers from their iPhones to access, view and share files from their PC, Mac or external hard drive(s) – precisely in the moment they need them. Since Backblaze has all the data in the cloud, users can access their files even if their computer is offline or turned off.

Earlier this month, Backblaze announced that it has safely backed up over 100 petabytes of photos, music, movies, documents, and other valuable files from PC and Mac computers to the cloud, ensuring they are recoverable when faced with data loss or computer theft.

“100,000,000 GB backed up and 5 billion files restored is a good step in protecting people from data loss,” says Gleb Budman, CEO of Backblaze. “But we will continue to work toward protecting all data using our unique cloud storage system that makes it possible to store an unlimited amount of data for customers at a cost of 1/15th what Amazon S3 charges.”

Media interested in speaking with Gleb Budman, CEO of Backblaze can visit Backblaze at booth 602, send inquiries to press at Backblaze dot com or call Kim Angell at (415) 471-7272.

  •     Print, text, email, post to Facebook and Twitter or save files to the camera roll.
  •     NEW in this version: Search – enabling customers to instantly locate their files in the cloud.
