Today, PortalFront Tru Apps announces a new “Convert to PDF” feature in SharePoint, bringing SharePoint a step closer to maturity.
Earlier this year PortalFront launched Tru Copy & Paste for SharePoint App that works with SharePoint Online (Office 365) and on premise SharePoint 2013 installations. Today the convert to PDF feature has been added to the app. Converting documents from Word (doc, docx), Excel (xslx), PowerPoint and other formats to PDF directly in SharePoint libraries was not possible. The app also allows batch conversion and supports many other file types to PDF. Users select the files they wish to convert and launch the app to convert the files. The App is available today in the Office 365 Store by searching for “Tru.” Batch conversion is also supported. Learn more here: http://truapps.portalfront.com/tru-copy-paste-for-sharepoint.html.
The internet community is invited to discuss the new feature along with Tru Apps related questions on twitter using: @Tru_Apps and to comment on the product page.
PortalFront Tru Apps Director, Karim Roumani noted, “We continue to add functionality to SharePoint that we believe is essential in user productivity. Users generate PDF all the time and it is time we enabled those users in SharePoint.”
Tru Copy & Paste installs in seconds and adds the feature to users’ SharePoint ribbon. Users can select multiple document or folders, click copy, browse to a destination location and paste those files.
PortalFront is focusing its efforts on developing top SharePoint apps that provide high value for more effective collaboration; the addition of PDF conversion feature is a great milestone in the direction.
