Vienna, VA (PRWEB) April 07, 2014
1105 Public Sector Media Group and GCN are pleased to announce that the call for nominations for the 2014 GCN Awards is now open.
Celebrating its 27th year, the GCN Awards recognize the contribution and commitment of federal, state and local agency IT teams to excellence in building government systems. Team nominations can be entered at http://www.gcn.com/awards before May 30, 2014.
Once the nominations are in, a distinguished panel of judges from the public sector community will select 10 projects to receive top honors. An additional 10 projects will receive an honorable mention for having made a substantial impact on their agencies.
"The GCN Awards are designed to find and showcase small often overlooked teams whose technical creativity and collaborative power have fundamentally changed the way technology is used and the public is served by federal, state and local government agencies,” said Paul McCloskey, Editor-in-Chief of GCN. “Given the speed of innovation in the technology marketplace, this year’s nominees are likely to be those that have been able to best grasp the significance of these changes in helping agencies build systems of high originality and value to the public.”
GCN Award winners will be featured in the October issue of GCN and at the GCN Awards Gala celebration October 14, 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner.
At the Gala, 1105 Media will also honor individual employees from the public and private sectors as FCW’s 2014 Rising Stars. These individuals have made a significant impact on the government technology community in their work.
