New York, NY (PRWEB) April 03, 2014
N.Y. Urban Professionals Athletic League (The League), the country’s preeminent provider of men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball leagues, has announced the start of their men’s Over 40 Division, set to kick off its inaugural season on April 14th. The roll out of this new league, says organization management, is to give the legions of over 40 New Yorkers who still love basketball a chance to “Get Back In the Game.”
“You still want to play. So play! You just need the right competition - games against guys who have some skills, who know the game but have, well, slowed a little,” says League’s president, John Bykowsky. “Too many men hit 40 and quit as they become unable to keep up with the younger guys. There is no reason for this. Our Over 40 men’s basketball division provides the opportunity to enjoy the game against appropriate competition.”
The League focuses on providing convenient, well-organized league play for working adults. Fielding over 1,500 basketball and 1,000 volleyball teams in New York City in the past year, The League has risen to the status of the country’s number one league. Last spring alone, they hosted 400 men’s basketball teams in 35 divisions, offering eight regular season games, plus playoffs.
The Over 40 Division is in line with the League’s overall commitment to offering players competition in line with their individual needs. “We believe that the key to enjoying a league is facing the appropriate competition and we pride ourselves on providing an unprecedented number of playing options through a variety of teams and levels of competition,” says Bykowsky. “In welcoming our Over 40 Division on April 14th, we celebrate the fact that anyone can be an athlete - and continue to compete - at any age.”
The N.Y. Urban Professionals Athletic League offers competitive league play for adults. Offering more levels of competition than any league in the country, The League fields over 2,500 men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. Individual players looking to find a team can also attend scheduled open scrimmages for appropriate team placement.
