Many community-based organizations work tirelessly to provide a positive environment for kids to thrive and grow. Financial constraints can limit the programs and services they provide. GCF Accounting Services seeks to help change that.

Durham, NC (PRWEB) April 08, 2014

Reverend Dennis McLain, President of the Goodwill Community Foundation (GCF®), a Durham-based, tax-exempt organization dedicated to creating opportunities for a better life, announces a new program providing free accounting services to tax-exempt organizations throughout eastern North Carolina

“GCF Accounting Services (“GCFAS”) combines a deep knowledge of the tax-exempt world with accounting expertise to assist boards of directors and management at organizations, such as Boys & Girls Clubs,” Rev. McLain said. “GCFAS eliminates the need for these organizations to use dollars for accounting activities and use the money to serve people,” according to Rev. McLain. There are currently 17 Boys & Girls Clubs benefiting from this free service with expectations to partner with more organizations as the program grows. Dan Hawley, who has 17 years with GCF, is director of GCF Accounting Services.

“We know first-hand the challenges associated with successfully growing a tax-exempt organization,” says Rev. McLain, GCF® president. “Many community-based organizations work tirelessly to provide a positive environment for kids to thrive and grow. Unfortunately, financial constraints can limit the programs and services they provide. GCF Accounting Services seeks to work directly with the executive team at these organizations to change that.”

Donations of clothing and household items at the local GCF Donation Center & Store provides the money that makes it possible for GCF to fund this program.
