Sydney Paige: Miss School, Miss Out children's book

I feel strongly that education leads to economic freedom and I have a deep passion to help children in underserved areas see possibilities beyond what they are able to experience today.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 08, 2014

On Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13, SYDNEY PAIGE® Inc., a socially conscious, buy-give business, will be at The LA Times Festival of Books at USC. The company offers three lines of age-appropriate, quality designer backpacks and other coordinating school gear, in addition to a children’s book series. “Sydney Paige: Miss School, Miss Out” will be featured at this weekends’ Festival, with book readings and signings at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on both days at Booth #580. For every product sold, an identical product is donated to a student in need, with the goal of giving kids the tools and confidence to stay in school and graduate.

SYDNEY PAIGE® is the dream of Courtney Brockmeyer, a Social Entrepreneur whose goal is to make a difference in the world and teach her own kids (Sydney and Paige) about the importance of education and giving back. The U.S. Census Bureau reports that there are more than 16 million children in America living in poverty (one in every five children) and, according to the National Education Association, such kids are six times more likely to drop out of school than those from higher income families. Two of the main culprits behind this dropout statistic are simply not having the right tools to do their homework and/or lacking the confidence to succeed in school.

“The Company’s mission is to promote the importance of education and to enrich the life of a child in need, while simultaneously empowering those more fortunate to be part of the solution and help break the cycle of poverty . . . one child at a time,” said Brockmeyer, founder and CEO. “I feel strongly that education leads to economic freedom and I have a deep passion to help children in underserved areas see possibilities beyond what they are able to experience today.” To accomplish this, Brockmeyer’s company sells quality backpacks and other school gear, as well as a line of children’s books, which teaches lessons about the importance of education and the impact of helping others, while taking young children along the many adventures of the main character, Sydney Paige.

The Company fills each of their donated backpacks with age-appropriate school supplies through partnerships with charitable organizations nationwide. Calling them their "Giving Crew", these organizations are made up of inspiring teams with hearts to serve and give back.

To be part of the solution, bring the entire family to the LA Times Festival of Books on the USC campus and visit SYDNEY PAIGE® Inc. at Booth #580 to learn more about the company, our products, and how you can be part of our Give Back Movement.
