Portland, ME (PRWEB) April 14, 2014
On Saturday, April 19, Tranzon and its member companies and auctioneers will celebrate National Auctioneers Day. Marked annually on the third Saturday in April, this special day is observed by auction professionals as a time to reflect on one of history’s oldest professions and celebrate the industry’s future.
“Auctions have been taking place for over 2,000 years, and auctioneers have a unique role in commerce,” said Sanford Alderfer, CAI, MPPA, President of Tranzon Alderfer in Hatfield, PA, and President of the National Auctioneers Foundation. “The auction methodology provides a transparent marketing and sales process that benefits both buyers and sellers.”
Thomas Saturley, CAI, President of Tranzon Auction Properties in Portland, ME, and Vice President of the National Auctioneers Association, commented on Tranzon’s role in the auction profession. “Tranzon has helped owners of real estate sell their assets through the competitive bidding process for more than a decade,” he noted, observing that, “Tranzon auctioneers are some of the most accomplished and longest tenured in the profession.”
Alderfer and Saturley agree that National Auctioneers Day is an appropriate occasion to honor the rich history of auctions and auctioneers, and to celebrate the future of the profession.
The spirit of National Auctioneers Day is carried throughout the year by Tranzon and its auctioneers, who regularly donate their time and “voices” to benefit auctions for nonprofit organizations around the country. This year Tranzon’s own charity auction held in conjunction with the company’s annual meeting raised funds to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, school building projects in earthquake-ravaged Haiti, and a school library in a Texas town that was devastated by a fertilizer plant explosion in 2013.
Onsite or online, auctions are one of the most effective ways to sell real estate. Tranzon joins the National Auctioneers Association in encouraging everyone to enjoy National Auctioneers Day by attending an auction.
