With businesses of all sizes becoming more dependent on IT to operate, service their clients, communicate, and market, CEOs must take a much more strategic approach to technology to stay competitive – and safe. That’s why Sean Robertson, President of Strategic Technology Associates Inc. (http://GetStrategic.ca), has joined a select group of North America’s leading I.T. experts to co-write the forthcoming book, The Business Owner’s Essential Guide to I.T. and All Things Digital: 22 Critical Facts Every Business Must Know to Maximize Their Company’s Efficiency, Security, Employee Productivity and Profits.

Sean Robertson is the President of Strategic Technology Associates Inc., based in Moncton, NB and Bedford, NS. For more than seven years, Sean has specialized in developing technology management solutions for law firms, manufacturers, and municipalities. Sean’s unique way of approaching business challenges facing these firms has contributed to much of his success, and one of the reasons he was asked to participate in the upcoming book.

While the book focuses on various topics within I.T. and all things digital, Sean’s specific chapter is titled “Employee Monitoring.” Sean says, “Employee Monitoring isn’t so much about keeping people from going to Facebook, it’s more about protecting your business’ data and financial assets from cyber criminals and inadvertent or malicious destruction.”

In 2007, Sean Robertson recognized an opportunity to bring enterprise level technology management to small and medium business and founded Strategic Technology Associates (STAI). Spending many years leading customer service and technology teams at an Executive level provided a strong foundation for building a client-focused, results-oriented information technology services company. Sean is often heard saying how proud he is that his first customer is still a valued customer.

Strategic Technology Associates operates throughout Atlantic Canada, using a different strategy than most other technology service providers. The business model used by STAI doesn’t permit profit from client computer problems. Instead; networks, desktops, and servers are managed proactively to minimize downtime and save money for clients.

The authors of The Business Owner’s Essential Guide to I.T. and All Things Digital have extensive experience and background related to how the epic changes in today’s digital world have affected each of us, and more specifically, how these changes have moved us to a higher level of specialization and efficiency, while at the same time allowing us a laser-focus on our activities. Sean, as well as his 21 co-authors, are some of the top minds within the I.T. industry, all of whom are currently serving small to midsize businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“I’m very excited and thrilled to be working with my fellow I.T. expert authors on this upcoming project, which is designed to educate today’s entrepreneurs on how to avoid the many pitfalls and challenges that can often provide obstacles on to growing your business and overall revenues,” Sean said. “It is my hope, through my more than 30 years of experience in this industry, that I can pass on some of my tips and best practices to help anyone that is currently a small business owner.”

It is worth noting that last year, Sean’s firm was named to the list of top 100 IT Services firms in the world, with less than 10 employees.

The royalties from this project will be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, a not-for-profit organization, internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with pediatric cancer.
