Seasoned Dunkin’ Donuts Franchisee Spearheads Customizable Burger Chain’s Growth in Union County

Burger enthusiasts in the Northeast area can look forward to having something new to drool over in 2014 and beyond, as MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes (MOOYAH), a fast-casual, “better burger” chain will open its doors for the first time on April 28, 2014 in Garwood, N.J., with an additional two restaurants scheduled to open over the next 24 months. Spearheaded by locally-based development agents, Anthony D’Amore and his business partner, Tom Mascia, the restaurant is located at 325 Route 28 and is the first MOOYAH to open in the Garden State.

“MOOYAH is a culmination of quality, customizable burgers and outstanding service, and these are the key drivers of our breakthrough location in New Jersey,” D’Amore said. “I joined MOOYAH as a development agent and franchisee because I believe in the brand, and it’s with this encouragement that I open my doors in Garwood and spearhead growth in a new territory.”

D’Amore signed on with MOOYAH as a developer for the New Jersey and New York markets in December 2013, but his history with franchising covers his entire career. Anthony joined his father’s business, NATC Donuts Inc., in 1986 when he was 18 years old. The enterprise was a platform for several Dunkin’ Donuts stores his father owned across Union and Middlesex County in New Jersey; since joining 20 years ago, D’Amore has been running the operations, growing their portfolio from six stores to seventeen thriving locations today. As the first MOOYAH franchisee in New Jersey, D’Amore will be focusing his efforts on establishing the growing burger brand’s presence before cultivating the areas of Bergen and Union County in the future.

At MOOYAH, Guests start their made-to-order burger experience by choosing from freshly-baked white or whole wheat buns, or a low-carb, bun replacement of iceberg lettuce leaves. Next, Guests have the option of never-frozen 100 percent American beef, Jennie-O® turkey or the mouthwatering veggie patty, all decorated with unlimited veggies and a choice of nine delectable sauces.

In addition, the sides and dessert are not to be forgotten. MOOYAH French fries are not an afterthought, but a crucial component of the whole MOOYAH experience. The daily-cut spuds are always cooked fresh, and transformed into the perfect French fries through a proprietary six-step, 24-hour process. Guests also have the option of the ever-popular Sweet Potato Fries. To offset the savory side of the menu, MOOYAH offers handcrafted shakes made with 100 percent real ice cream. Like their burgers, MOOYAH shakes can be customized with fun ice cream flavors and sweet toppings such as M&M’s®, cookie dough and peanut butter cups.
