The certificate sits on the Qualifications Curriculum Framework and takes would-be mediators beyond completing an accredited training course, and to a genuine qualification.
Available in three levels, the qualification offers the learner a progression route leading to OCNLR Level 3 Certificate in Mediation Theory and Practice (QCF).
The Mandatory units cover generic skills applicable to all types of mediation and optional modules cover skills required in specific areas of mediation practice; and knowledge and skills to enable the mediator to understand different approaches a mediator might take in the mediation process including the use of nonviolent communication and concepts.
Katherine Graham, MD of CMP Resolutions goes on to say, "Being approved by the OCNLR to run this award means we can train mediators on a course that gives them a real qualification, because this is the only mediation that is approved by the QCF.
