Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) April 30, 2014
AMP Holding Inc. (OTCBB and OTCQB: AMPD) announced today that its Workhorse subsidiary would unveil its new, innovative, E-GEN Drive system designed for its new chassis program or for repowering existing trucks at the ACT EXPO show in Long Beach, CA, May 6-8, 2014.
Workhorse’s patent-pending E-GEN Drive uses a combination of battery-electric power and a small internal combustion engine to double the miles per gallon attained on a typical delivery route. E-GEN Drive is available for gasoline, LPG, and CNG fuels.
Several design features make E-GEN unique in the market. The vehicle is powered by the electric motor when in motion. When stopped, and shifted into PARK, a small internal combustion engine automatically turns on and functions as a generator to recharge the battery to its required level. This technology offers several benefits to the user—range anxiety is eliminated, the system costs less than an all-electric system, and the life of the battery is extended since its management software precludes depletion beyond its normal range.
“We expect to take an active role in the Alternative Clean Transportation Expo 2014 (ACT EXPO 2014), in Long Beach, CA. The ACT EXPO is the industry’s largest annual gathering, bringing together more than 3,000 attendees; including fleets, technology companies, OEMs, fuel providers, infrastructure developers, and policymakers. It gives us the opportunity to display our patent-pending E-GEN Technology and meet one-on-one with the largest fleet operators in the county,” said Steve Burns, CEO of AMP Holding, which owns the Workhorse brand.
In addition to unprecedented fuel efficiency, E-GEN, reduces maintenance costs, and increases vehicle up-time. We believe E-GEN Drive can reduce a fleet’s harmful air emissions while its reducing operating costs.
“We look to our E-GEN range-extending technology to provide a three-year payback WITHOUT a government voucher while, at the same time, lowering the significant infrastructure costs that come with electric power. E-GEN can charge from a 110 volt outlet.” added Martin Rucidlo, President of Workhorse.
