Jacksonville, Florida (PRWEB) May 03, 2014
Three children and their very excited foster parents received a wonderful gift and a stunning surprise—their first beds—delivered by the Ashley Furniture HomeStore team and their “A Hope to Dream" partners, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley, his wife Michaela and their four children, thrilled 7 year-old Laila and her little sister and brother, 4 year-old Lillian and 3 year-old Ben when they showed up at the home of Betty and Billy Rodgers. The Rodgers are the children’s foster parents and the donation of the beds support the Rodgers’ goal of providing the children with a safe home and a new life.
Ashley Furniture HomeStore-Jacksonville provided the beds to the family as part of the “A Hope to Dream” program, a nation-wide effort to provide beds for children in need that began with Ashley Furniture HomeStore right here on the First Coast. Following the delivery to the Rodgers family, three more deserving Jacksonville families received “A Hope to Dream” beds.
In the past five years “A Hope to Dream” has provided nearly 10,000 beds to children nationwide. Ashley Furniture HomeStore CEO and managing member Howard Fineman says he’s grateful for the community’s support of the project.
“When we meet the children who receive our beds—when we see their excitement and joy—it reaffirms our commitment to doing whatever we can to make certain that every child can start each day with that basic necessity of life—a good night’s sleep. It seems simple, but it is one of the most important foundations to help children succeed and dream big!”
Every month, Ashley Furniture HomeStore-Jacksonville team members review nominations and select local families to receive beds. The families are nominated by friends, family and social service agencies. If you know of a child who needs a bed you can submit your nomination at any Ashley Furniture HomeStore showroom on the First Coast, or online at http://www.ahopetodream.com.
