The Diagnostics Marketing Association (DxMA) hosted their annual Global Marketing Summit and Dx Creative Communications Awards Ceremony last month in San Francisco, CA. Representatives from close to 50 different diagnostic companies were in attendance.

The theme of the 2014 Global Marketing Summit was "Accountable Care’s Impact on Diagnostics: Follow the Money" and focused on the Affordable Care’s impact on the diagnostics industry. Presenters gave attendees tips on how their organization can keep up with this rapidly changing environment. All presentations from the Global Marketing Summit are currently posted online for attendees to view. These presentations will be made available to DxMA members in July 2014.

The 2013 Marketer of the Year, Genomic Health, kicked off the Global Marketing Summit with a presentation made by their President, CEO and Chairman of the Board, Kimberly J. Popovits. Her presentation focused on Genomic Health’s successful viral education concept developed to reach people touch by breast cancer titled "Pass It On, Until Every Woman Knows." The campaign includes a consumer-based website, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter social media platforms to build awareness of the Oncotype DX test, and has reached over 100 million people.

In addition to the Global Marketing Summit presentations, the Dx Creative Communication Awards were held. With over 80 entries, all finalist entries were displayed throughout the Global Marketing Summit and attendees voted on the Best of Show Award. WCG and Genomic Health took home the Best of Show Award for their "Genomic Health Prostate Cancer Patient Education Website."

The 2015 DxMA Global Marketing Summit is slated for April 2015. Continue to check the DxMA website for additional information.
