The Mason Foundation for Animal Shelter Design announced today that it will be awarding matching grants to animal shelters in the United States to help fund needs assessments and schematic architectural drawings for new buildings or remodeling projects.
“We know that, due to scarce funds, it can be a challenge to properly conduct the critical first steps for building or remodeling an animal shelter,” said Greg Taylor, Executive Director of the Mason Foundation for Animal Shelter Design. “A thorough needs assessment and good initial architectural plans are fundamental building blocks to ensure a shelter is optimally designed for layout, flow and efficiency, avoid costly mistakes down the road and help secure capital campaign funding.”
By providing matching grants, the Mason Foundation for Animal Shelter Design enables shelters across the United States to fund an initial needs assessment and architectural consultation, which provides the hard data necessary to quantify the size and scope of the new facility or remodel, and to start the process correctly and professionally.
Shelters may apply at http://www.MasonAnimalFoundation.org. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and funds are awarded twice per year. For more information, email info(at)MasonAnimalFoundation(dot)org or call 937-780-1039.
