The Diagnostics Marketing Association (DxMA) announced Karen Alvarado and Lawrence J. Worden as the recipients of the 2014 Jerry R. Goldsmith Award last month at the 2014 Dx Creative Communication Awards ceremony. The Jerry R. Goldsmith Award recognizes the contributions made by an individual that impacts the growth of the DxMA and the diagnostic industry it supports.
Karen Alvarado is currently the Principal of KAESA Consulting, a firm that assists clients on issues of business development, planning, strategy and marketing. She is also a Career Consultant at Lee Hecht Harrison, a global talent mobility leader, where she coaches clients through career transition and manages clients to successfully find new positions or begin new careers. She serves as Treasurer of the DxMA and is a member of the Networking Committee, but has been a part of the DxMA throughout her career. Alvarado has been a Board member since 2005, holding prior leadership roles including President of the organization. Her vast experience and expertise in creating effective marketing campaigns, launching products and developing effective functional teams has been an asset to the DxMA Board. Previously, Alvarado led marketing at Sequenom Laboratory. Alvarado also created and directed marketing and sales teams for In Vitro Diagnostic leaders such as Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Diagnostic Products Corporation, Hybritech and Technicon.
Lawrence J, Worden is currently the Vice President and Senior Partner at Market Diagnostics International (MDxI), where he consults with clients about the design and implementation of international market research studies and helps integrate these findings into the client’s organizational goals and objectives. Worden is also the President-Elect and Chair of the Web Cast committee for the DxMA. Worden’s 30 plus years of experience in the medical and scientific market research field has helped the DxMA target and define their membership. Prior to MDxI, Worden was a senior consultant and co-founder at CaseBauer & Associates, an international business development and research firm exclusively focused on In Vitro diagnostics, and has held marketing and research positions with Becton Dickinson and Company, AdvaMed, Luning Prak Associates, and IMS Health.
Current DxMA President Peggy Robinson presented both Alvarado and Worden with their awards at the Dx Creative Communication Awards Ceremony.
