"Our Free Military Program will allow us to help some of the country's most deserving citizens experience their dream of owning a log home without taking the path of a traditional mortgage."

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) May 14, 2014

The Log Home Builders Association (LHBA) today announces the Free Military Program, which will help United States military personnel build their own log homes from scratch without a mortgage. This program allows qualified members of our nation's armed forces to join the LHBA for free and attend the association's world-famous 2-day log home building class. Military personnel will also receive free technical support while they are building their log homes.

Service men and women who are returning to civilian life face tough job prospects, tight lending requirements, and a turbulent housing market. The LHBA is stepping up to try and help solve some of these problems by assisting America’s armed forces to build log homes for themselves and their families.

"We are proud to honor our nation's military forces,” said Ellsworth, an association director and instructor. "Our Free Military Program will allow us to help some of the country's most deserving citizens experience their dream of owning a log home without taking the path of a traditional mortgage."

The LHBA is an educational non-profit and the worlds leading authority on owner-builder log homes. They have taught their famous 2-day log home building class since 1965. Students learn how to build an authentic tight-pinned butt and pass log home from scratch, without using any pre-manufactured kits. There are an average of 500 former students building log homes across the country at any given time, and they often volunteer on each other’s projects. Many of these owner builders are finishing their homes for less than $50,000.

The next log home class will be Memorial Day weekend, May 24th and 25th (Saturday and Sunday), in Las Vegas Nevada. Interested armed forces personnel who are active duty, homeless, or recently returned from overseas, can find out more about the Free Military Program and qualification requirements at http://www.buildloghomes.org/military and members of the general public can find out more about LHBA classes at http://www.buildloghomes.org/.
