The former director of the CIA, Gen. David Petraeus, will be the keynote luncheon speaker on Wednesday, May 21, at Hart Energy’s DUG Permian Basin conference and exhibition, the premier industry event focused on unconventional resources in the Permian Basin. Gen. Petraeus will talk about his influence on the United States Army and his exemplary military and domestic security career which spanned nearly four decades of American history. The DUG Permian Basin conference is set for May 20-22, 2014, at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Gen. Petraeus' long and distinguished career includes serving his country in the U.S. military as commander of coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and as commander of the U.S. Central Command, as well as 14 months as director of the CIA. He is now the chairman of KKR Global Institute, a visiting professor of public policy at CUNY's Macaulay Honors College and a Judge Widney Professor at the University of Southern California. Gen. Petraeus has received numerous U.S. military, State Department, NATO and United Nations awards and decorations.
