Travel industry expert Barbara DeLollis has officially launched her new blog, Travel Update with Barb DeLollis, providing insightful coverage of the latest news and trends in the travel industry. (http://barbdelollis.com/posts)

DeLollis, former USA Today Business Writer, spent the last 20 years identifying and tracking key trends in travel, business and real estate, most recently concentrating on the global hotel and airline industries.

"I'm excited to launch Travel Update because I love to travel as much as I love to share my observations with readers,” Delollis said. “The best part is the interaction I get with Travel Update readers who are always quick to share their opinions so I’m constantly learning.”

On Monday evening, DeLollis celebrated her blog launch at the luxury New York Palace with notable industry executives Paul Whetsell, CEO of Loews Hotels and David McCaslin, President of Palace-owner Northwood Hospitality. They gathered at the hotel’s new cocktail salon, Trouble’s Trust, which was created as part of the property’s $160 million makeover.

DeLollis is recognized as a leading voice in the coverage of breaking hospitality news gleaned from her vast network of contacts, including global CEOs and respected insiders. Her keen industry knowledge affords her access to game changers whose decisions shape the global hotel industry.

Travel Update is not DeLollis’s first blog. While at USA Today, she authored the highly successful and widely followed Hotel Check-In from 2009-2013.

“I look forward to using my own personal platform to write about emerging trends, hot-button issues, breaking news and consumer pet peeves that the industry needs to address,” DeLollis said. “With disruptive companies such as Airbnb and Uber giving consumers new choices, there will be no shortage of stories to explore!"

Industry insiders are welcoming Delollis’ return to the online news world.

"Congratulations to Barbara on the launch of her new travel blog. Her coverage of lodging and travel has always been informative, revealing, insightful and often entertaining," said Bjorn Hanson, Divisional Dean of the NYU Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management.

Delollis is a frequent panelist and moderator at hotel industry forums, including the prestigious New York University‘s International Hospitality Investment Conference and the first Mexico summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council. She built a substantial following by maximizing social media to share her insights and travel stories. She launched the annual USA Today Hotel CEO Roundtable in Los Angeles in 2012.

DeLollis encourages readers and sources - both old and new - to contact her on Twitter at @barbdelollis (http://twitter.com/barbdelollis), via email at barbdelollis (at) gmail (dot) com, on Facebook (http://facebook.com/barbara.delollis) and - of course - Travel Update with Barb DeLollis (barbdelollis.com/posts).
