We must be a voice for the voiceless!
OTTAWA, Ontario (PRWEB) May 20, 2014
Human rights leader and One Free World International founder, Majed El Shafie, will speak at the "Bring Back Our Girls/Enough is Enough" Rally – to be held on Thursday, May 22nd from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Parliament Hill. The catalyst for the rally is to bring attention to the more than 200 missing Nigerian schoolgirls who were kidnapped last month.
Participants and attendees will stand in solidarity with female students in our global community whose right to an education is being denied. The rally will also focus attention on freedom of religion and human rights issues that need to be addressed worldwide, including human trafficking, violence against women, child slavery and more. The public is invited and encouraged to come and be informed.
Other guests expected to appear include various members of Parliament, in addition to religious and human rights leaders from various faiths and nations. The rally is sponsored by the Nigerian Canadian Association of Ottawa and concerned Canadian citizens.
“If you think that you are far away from persecution, think again,” says El Shafie. “If you do not stand for others today, they will come against you tomorrow. Our world today is an unfair place, an unjust place. Not because the people are doing evil, because the people remain silent about it. We must be a voice for the voiceless!”
El Shafie has a unique voice, having once been arrested, tortured, and sentenced to die in Egypt for defending human rights and fighting for freedom of religion and the rights of minorities. He regularly testifies before the U.S. Congress and the Canadian Parliament and Senate, and he's a frequent guest on news outlets worldwide, including FOX News Radio, Glenn Beck, Mike Huckabee, Phil Valentine, Laura Ingraham, CBN News, CBC, Sun News Network, CTV News and many more. He now resides in Canada and fights for those persecuted around the world through his human rights organization, One Free World International. Pressuring governments, and challenging both world and spiritual leaders, he has not been afraid to put everything on the line to help those in need.
