The California Dental Association Foundation is pleased to announce a $50,000 donation from new sponsor Western Dental in support of the CDA Cares volunteer dental program scheduled for Pomona later this year. CDA Cares provides cleanings, fillings, extractions and oral health education at no charge to Californians who experience barriers to care.
“We truly appreciate this significant contribution from Western Dental to support our CDA Cares program,” said Don Rollofson, DMD, chair of the CDA Foundation. “This donation will assist us in providing much-needed dental care and oral health services to patients seeking help at our event.”
The goal of CDA Cares is to relieve pain and infection in patients and educate the public and policymakers about the importance of good oral health and the need for an adequately funded dental safety net, including a state dental director who can develop programs to improve the oral health of Californians.
“We are thrilled to make this donation to the CDA Foundation in support of its CDA Cares program,” said Simon Castellanos, Western Dental chief executive officer. “Western Dental employees enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer at the most recent CDA Cares event and witness firsthand the wonderful impact this program has on the lives of Californians in need.”
As one of the nation’s leading and largest dental providers, Castellanos says that Western Dental is committed to providing high quality dental and oral health care services that are accessible and affordable to all. Western Dental provides care to more than 750,000 patients annually across California and through affiliated dental practices in Arizona and Nevada. In addition, its affiliate, Brident Dental & Orthodontics, provides business support services to dental practices in Texas.
With the help of thousands of community volunteers, dentists and dental professionals, the CDA Cares volunteer dental program has provided $7.5 million in care to more than 10,000 Californians since 2012.
The next CDA Cares event is scheduled for Pomona, Nov. 21-22 at the Pomona Fairplex.
Volunteer registration for the clinic opens in July. For more information on CDA Cares, visit http://www.cdafoundation.org/cda-cares.
