Strand Brothers Service Experts has received the 2013 Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Century Club Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy – an award presented to fewer than 200 companies nationwide.

The Century Club Award recognizes companies who utilized a “whole-house” approach to improve the energy performance of 100 or more homes in the past year and successfully fulfilled the requirements of their local Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® programs. The program is sponsored locally by Austin Energy.

Strand Brothers Service Experts General Manager Wayne Harrel reports that his company increased the number of homes serviced through the program by at least 20% in 2013. “Our entire team focused on educating homeowners about energy-efficiency improvements because of the benefits to the individual, the community and the environment,” he said. "Not only can the emission of green house gases be radically reduced, but depending on the improvements selected, homeowners could save 30% or more on their annual utility bills through this program."

Strand Brothers, located at 1900 E Howard Lane in Pflugerville, is in its 36th year of operation and employs 60 professionals, including NATE-certified HVAC technicians. This marks the sixth straight year that Strand Brothers has received the Century Club Award.

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® offers homeowners a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving energy efficiency and comfort, while saving money on utility bills and helping to protect the environment. Homeowners receive a free energy analysis (the home must be at least 10 years old) and recommendations to improve energy-efficiency, along with information on rebates and other available offers. Austin Energy inspectors review the recommendations before the work proceeds and quality-check the work when completed to ensure energy savings are realized.
