Aisle containment has become a best practice in the data center industry and nearly all new construction projects are designed with containment from the beginning.

Data Center Resources, LLC, a leading supplier of products and services related to data center power, cooling and monitoring, announced today that their Cool Shield aisle containment product line had record sales numbers over the past 12 months. Several new data center construction projects helped product sales to surge over 50% over the previous year. Sales have increased in each of the five years since the product has been introduced.

“Aisle containment has become a best practice in the data center industry and nearly all new construction projects are designed with containment from the beginning,” says Data Center Resources co-founder, Justin Tocco. “We are fortunate that our Cool Shield product is so versatile. There have been some unique design requirements which we have been able to meet which I believe some of our competitors could not. I believe we are developing a solid reputation among contractors as a solution provider who can deliver on just about any specification.”

The Cool Shield aisle containment solution consists of a wide array of standard parts which can be combined in near limitless ways. The base components can be used for vertical panel, ceiling panel, flexible strip applications. A variety of hinged and sliding door options are also available.

Mr. Tocco indicated that despite the surge in new construction projects, there has been a slow down on retrofit applications. “There seems to be some trepidation among data center managers about meeting the recent NFPA 75 data center standards. Some of the lower cost and easy to implement approaches to adding containment to an existing data center does not meet the new standards. We are looking at this as a challenge and have some products in development to address this issue.”
