Deerfield, Illinois (PRWEB) May 30, 2014

On the heels of the White House’s Healthy Kids & Safe Sports Concussion Summit and its call to develop greater opportunities for interaction and collaboration in the fight against concussions, Sports Brain has announced the launch of Concussion World.

Concussion World has been developed to be a full-scale concussion event focused on creating a multi-disciplinary platform that encourages interaction between all stakeholders impacted by concussions.

Concussion World will incorporate panel presentations focusing on the issues from the perspectives of athletes, parents, coaches, the medical community, youth sports administrators, high schools, colleges, professional teams, players associations and leagues. The panels will examine the regulatory, legal, financial and practical implications of concussions on sports and will explore solutions which can be feasibly implemented in diverse sports environments.

Concussion World will also incorporate a trade show allowing vendors of concussion related products and services access to this growing market as well as the “Concussion Awards” which will recognize achievement in fighting concussions. For more information, visit http://www.ConcussionWorld.com.

“We know that Concussion World will be a terrific event to join with other organizations who are passionate about fighting concussions,” said Roy Kessel, Founder of Sports Brain and Concussion World. “Our participation in the White House’s Healthy Kids & Safe Sports Concussion Summit was a great place to announce our launch of Concussion World and we know that Concussion World will take a place at the center of the important conversations about how to combat concussions.”

Sports Brain is a national organization based in suburban Chicago concentrating on the implementation of comprehensive baseline concussion testing and concussion management programs for youth, high school, college, and professional sports organizations.

“We have received strong initial support from many concussion advocacy groups and we anticipate additional announcements on partners and sponsors shortly,” said Roy Kessel. “We are excited to share our vision to expand the certification programs for the medical and athletic communities in order to improve the level of diagnosis, treatment, and decisions (Return-to-Learn and Return-to-Play) which are being made after a concussion. Concussion World will allow us to expand these efforts and generate wide-spread support for greater uniformity in how these decisions are handled.”

Concussion World will host interactive panels which will focus on:

  •     Regulatory issues
  •     Technology
  •     Medical services
  •     High Schools
  •     Parents
  •     Coaches
  •     Professional sports
  •     Youth sports

Concussion World will be held in suburban Chicago on April 10-11, 2015.

“One of the challenges in finding solutions to the concussion crisis is creating opportunities for multi-disciplinary interaction among the stakeholders,” said Kessel. “We believe that Concussion World will serve as a fantastic platform to allow the interaction among a diverse group of individuals and organizations who are all interested in fighting concussions. As we saw at the White House’s Healthy Kids & Safe Sports Concussion Summit, there is an enormous need and appetite for people who want to work together to fight concussions. People left yesterday’s Summit feeling empowered with the ideas and funding to pursue this battle and Concussion World will let them build off of that energy.”

“It is important for us to support all efforts to fight concussions,” said Roy Kessel. “Many organizations are working hard on solutions, technologies and testing platforms which will improve the ability to educate, more effectively diagnose and make better return-to-play and return-to-learn decisions. All of these companies and organizations need greater awareness of their products and services and need to have access to the governing bodies and decision makers that can implement some of these solutions on a wide spread scale. We believe that Concussion World will provide them with that opportunity.”
