Mental Training is an integral part of any professional or Olympic athlete's daily routine. No one knows this better than Olympic Mental Training and Performance Coach, Dan Vitchoff. On Tuesday June 6th, 2014 Dan Vitchoff will join Country Music Sensation Tim McGraw and Olympian Josh Richmond as a guest shooting instructor for the 2014 Tug McGraw Foundation Annual Celebrity Shoot Out in Nashville Tennessee. This event will raise money and awareness to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and PTSD. Programs like these as well as Vitchoff’s 33 Method offer solutions where the traditional VA health administration sometimes struggles.

The wounded warrior project supports programs and services for wounded veterans including, but not limited to, soldiers returning from war that are suffering from PTSD and anxiety or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD and recovery from severe and debilitating anxiety is something that is very near and dear to Vitchoff’s hear because any of the athletes that he trains are also American Soldiers and several have been deployed and affected either directly or indirectly from the effects of PTSD. Vitchoff has developed a revolutionary new treatment that can be used to address PTSD and anxiety in soldiers returning from war that provides them with an alternative to traditional talk therapy and medication. Many soldiers find it difficult to return to their normal lives because of the heightened sensitivity and traumatic experiences that they live in day in and day out in a war zone. Unfortunately, this has led to an increase in suicide and substance abuse among soldiers returning from war.

Vitchoff developed a patented and trademarked system of mental training and hypnosis which has become known as the “33 Method” to help people re-program their minds to that of a previous or perhaps more desirable or healthy state of mind. In addition to addressing PTSD, anxiety, sports improvement, the 33 method can also be adapted to help people lose weight, stop smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, overcome fears, phobias, test anxiety and more.

Vitchoff’s athletes and clients span the globe, in response to the increased demand for his services, he created the Original Mind Gym which offers clients and patients a place where they can physically go to train their minds. The 33 Method sessions are pre-programmed on a tablet device for each user, this enables the user to practice their mental training anywhere they are in the world. This also offers the opportunity for scale ability across a major health system such as the VA Hospital which has recently come under fire for long wait times and refusing the proper treatment for Veterans. Use of the Original Mind Gym would facilitate PTSD treatment in a more effective and efficient manner. Dan Vitchoff and the the 33 Method were featured on WPXI's coverage of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Coverage.
