Claremont Graduate University Accepting Submissions for 2015 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award and Kate Tufts Discovery Award

The $100,000 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award goes annually to honor a book by a midcareer poet and the $10,000 Kate Tufts Discovery Award recognizes a first book by a promising young poet. The submission deadline is July 1, 2014.

Claremont Graduate University is pleased to announce a call for entries for the 2015 Tufts Poetry Awards.

The $100,000 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award is given annually to honor a book of poetry by a midcareer U.S. poet. The winner spends one week in residence at Claremont Graduate University in California. The $10,000 Kate Tufts Discovery Award is given annually to honor a first book of poetry by "a poet of genuine promise."

Recent winners of the Tufts Poetry Awards include Afaa Michael Weaver, Yona Harvey, Marianne Boruch, Timothy Donnelly, Chase Twichell, Atsuro Riley, D.A. Powell, and Matthea Harvey.

Poets, publishers, agents, or friends may submit eight copies of a book of poetry published between September 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. There is no entry fee. Entries must be postmarked on or before July 1, 2014.
