Giving our customers flexible, customizable solutions to fit their patient’s needs is part of what drives TCG’s product innovation.

This week at the NADONA LTC conference in Anaheim, CA, TCGRx introduced an innovative solution called CompletePac™ that addresses the growing need for adherence packaging at the point of discharge from hospitals and rehabilitation units in long-term care. The versatile solution also provides a method for handling discontinued medication in a safe and effective way within skilled nursing facilities.
The CompletePac closes the packaging loop with the use of TCG’s ATP™ Series. Through a proprietary interface, the ATP generates oral solid medication in unit dose packaging, then integrates them into a larger, clearly labeled overwrap pouch. The pouch can be organized for single or multiple day discharge amounts, or can be organized for specific pass times. Additional features of the new pouch packaging include multi-line printing, 2D and linear barcode printing, various package sizes and bags are available in single use or re-sealable options. Unopened unit dose packaged meds can also be returned to inventory, which saves the pharmacy money over time. “Giving our customers flexible, customizable solutions to fit their patients’ needs is part of what drives TCG’s product innovation,” said Katie White, Senior Product Manager.
Duane Chudy, President of TCG, stated that, “discharge from hospitals and rehab units in LTC has become a major priority because of the reimbursement changes and star rating systems through CMS. CompletePac is a way to take the daunting challenge of medication management and turn it into a convenient, patient-friendly format that anyone can use. We are extremely proud to offer this as part of the overall healthcare solution.”
