Despite the downpour that marked this year’s Vancouver International Marathon, the Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology of Vancouver provided volunteer manpower to help make the event a success.

More than 16,000 runners turned out this year for the 43rd running of the race, which has been recognized by Forbes as one of the top 10 marathons of the world.

The Vancouver Volunteer Ministers, who were honored with a Volunteers of the Year award in 2007 for their continued service to the marathon, have made their participation in the event an annual tradition.
