SONOMA, CA (PRWEB) June 19, 2014
KRAVE, a leading producer of better-for-you and artisanal jerky snacks, is beefing up its partnership with one of football’s most dynamic playmakers, Vernon Davis, to host an intimate California wine country event at Imagery Winery on July 12th. The Sonoma-inspired affair will not only help to raise funds to benefit the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts, but will also drive awareness for the healthy meat-snacks brand and highlight a number of local craft food and wine purveyors.
Passionate about art, philanthropy and entrepreneurship, Vernon puts a unique twist to what it means to be an athlete. Similarly, KRAVE puts a exciting spin on the jerky category by serving up unexpected flavors and ingredients to create the ultimate snacking experience. To emphasize KRAVE’s roots in Sonoma wine country and the company’s unique culinary approach, KRAVE the Unexpected - Sonoma Style will feature an eclectic mix of all things Sonoma and California: jerky inspired bites by local Proprietor Sondra Bernstein and the girl & the fig Executive Chef John Toulze, along with gourmet treats from Imagery Wine Estates, Vella Cheese Company, Three Twins Ice Cream, Chocolate Ribbons and Firestone-Walker Brewing. Guests will be treated to an art show with creations from Vernon Davis’ Gallery 85 artists and Imagery Wine Estates Gallery, a live art performance, a silent auction, lawn games with Vernon, and more.
“I partnered with KRAVE because of the company’s mission of providing healthy, delicious, on-the-go snacks to consumers. It was a perfect fit for my daily workout regimen and life as a professional football player,” said Vernon Davis. “It’s grown beyond that. KRAVE is an organization and group of people that I really enjoy working with. I am thrilled to work with the KRAVE team to put together a fun and unique Sonoma-inspired event that will help bring attention to the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts and highlight how KRAVE is changing the jerky category for the better.”
“Traditionally, consumers expect dry, tough and chemical-laden jerky,” said Jon Sebastiani, CEO and Founder of KRAVE. “However, when people experience KRAVE, jerky becomes a completely new snack for them. Our culinary inspired flavors, slow roasting methods and meticulous sourcing of premium ingredients is unexpected. In teaming up with Vernon to host the KRAVE the Unexpected event, we are working to help change consumer perception about jerky and bring more awareness to its health benefits and culinary appeal, while simultaneously benefiting Vernon’s foundation.”
KRAVE the Unexpected - Sonoma Style will kick off a series of similar events to be held in various cities across the United States. Each event will help to highlight local up-and-coming food and beverage influencers as well as KRAVE’s gourmet, chef-inspired products.
The Sonoma event will be held on July 12, 2014 at Imagery Winery located at 14335 Sonoma Highway, Glen Ellen, CA 95442. From the celebrated vineyards, coveted micro-climates and renowned gourmet outposts of California wine country comes, of all things, KRAVE. Founded in 2009, KRAVE is a leading producer of artisanal jerky, located in Sonoma. A cut above the old, leathery, chemically processed products, KRAVE represents a jerky renaissance, providing an all-natural, gluten-free snack that is both healthy and flavorful, made using only all natural, high-quality ingredients. The meat is carefully treated by hand and is double marinated and baked to lock in moisture. KRAVE’s meat is roasted, not dried or dehydrated, and is braised first, utilizing the “low and slow” method to produce the jerky’s signature moist and tender texture. Ranging from sweet and tangy to savory and spicy, KRAVE’s innovative flavor profiles will appeal to the everyday jerky lovers and to the discerning palates of today’s food-savvy, health conscious gourmands.
