Neo-Metro solid-surface basin with Dyson Airblade™ Tap faucet and hand drying system announced at 2014 Dwell on Design Conference

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2014

Neo-Metro, creator of custom residential, hospitality, and commercial bathroom furnishings, unveils its new PAT one-piece basin with the Dyson Airblade™ Tap at the 2014 Dwell on Design Conference. With the debut of this singular and extraordinary fixture, two companies collaborate to provide designers and architects a cost-effective selection for sink, faucet and hand dryer all in one. This collaboration aims to provide one easy-to-clean, durable solution that has it all: lower environmental impact, operational costs, and maintenance than your average basin includes.

Neo-Metro’s PAT with Airblade™ Tap is less expensive than purchasing a sink, faucet, p-trap cover and supports separately for a commercial application. With the addition of the Dyson faucet/hand-drying system to the sink, hands can be dried in 14 seconds with no need to move to a separate hand drying area. Cost, cleanup, and waste are minimized with this eco-friendly system. Paper towels are no longer necessary and other conventional hand dryers found in commercial settings that are more energy-hungry. The Dyson Airblade™ Tap hand dryer costs up to 69 percent less to run per year than other hand dryers, and up to 97 percent more cost-effective than using paper towels. The PAT basin is made of a soy-based solid surface material that is durable, scratch- and chip-resistant, further contributing to lower maintenance costs.

PAT is compact and curvaceous, an integrated single-piece counter and basin made of recyclable materials that contributes to points in the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) green building certification program. It comes in three solid color choices —Blanco, Grey Goose, and Grenadine—though Neo-Metro can also custom match to any color.

PAT paired with the Dyson Airblade™ Tap is a bacteria-fighting dynamic duo. The single-piece basin material is available with SteriTouch®, which uses the natural sterilizing properties of silver to reduce the growth of harmful bacteria. In addition, the Dyson Airblade™ Tap hand dryer uses a HEPA filter removing 99.97 percent of bacteria at 0.3 microns from the air used to dry hands. Hands are dried using cleaner air, versus other hand dryers that do not filter bacteria from restroom air, but rather, blow back dirty air onto hands and are therefore less hygienic.

Inspiration for the PAT’s patented design comes from the minimalist characteristic and geometric shape of Neo-Metro’s trademark SLAB™ basin. With SLAB, designers begin with a smooth, clean slate and of unsaturated polyester resin that can be cast in any size or shape to a wall-mounted or console piece using the company’s stainless steel capabilities. Neo-Metro manufactures its own molds for this material, which allows for highly customizable and unique pieces. This year, the CenturyLink Tower office skyscraper—the second tallest building in Denver, Colorado—decided they wanted multiple custom-fit consoles specific to each one of the building’s 53 floors, including the fitness center. Neo-Metro worked with designers to assess each floor’s setting, taking into account specific necessity and individual design as they do with all clients.
