FuelBox Inc., a Santa Barbara-based technology startup company has successfully reached its Indiegogo.com crowdfunding goal of $50,000 and plans to offer its universal mobile-device charging system in large retail stores later this year.

In October, more than 425 donors to FuelBox Inc.’s Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign will begin receiving powerStation™ wall-mounted devices, which allow users to easily charge smartphones, tablets and 99% of mobile devices in homes, offices and on-the-go. The powerStation comes with an integrated, removable and portable battery, the boostPack™, that provides more than 25 hours of charging power and has built-in universal charging cords.

“To reach our goal of $50,000 on Indiegogo.com with seven days left is an amazing accomplishment and boost for all of us at Team FuelBox,” said Dan Friedman, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of FuelBox Inc. “We’ve worked extremely hard to get to this point and while this is incredible, this is only the beginning, so stay tuned.”

The universal mobile-device charger is aimed at meeting the needs of the more than 200 million users of the ever-growing smartphone and portable computer tablets market.

“We’ve had serious interest expressed from multiple big-box stores looking to retail FuelBox products, including Best Buy, Bed-Bath-Beyond, Target, JC Penney, Walmart, Walgreens and Fry’s Electronics,” Friedman said. “We’ve also received our first purchase order from Central Computers, an electronics retailer in the Bay area.”

The successful Indiegogo campaign means FuelBox can start its initial production line.

“With the funds from our Indiegogo campaign we can begin our tooling process with our manufacturing partner and begin producing products to be sold this holiday season,” Friedman said. “We have everything in place we need to make FuelBox a successful venture; all we need now is financial partners to put the ‘fuel’ in FuelBox. The powerStation is the first 2-in-1 charging system that provides access to power both at home and on-the-go. The powerStation is equipped with two sets of universally compatible connectors. Its flexi-arm connectors can’t tangle and are impossible to lose because they are attached to the powerStation itself. The compact design means no more lost cords, no more overloaded outlets and no more losing touch when mobile devices lose power.

FuelBox has gone to great lengths to ensure that the powerStation is ethically produced and packaged. The PowerStation comes in a recycled cardboard box that is fully compostable. Packaging is minimized and ethically sourced.
