Chevrolet confirmed the announcement made at the Consumer Electronics Show, stating that 2015 Chevrolet models Corvette, Malibu, Impala, and Volt will be the first General Motors automobiles to feature the optional OnStar 4G LTE system. This will be followed by the Equinox, Spark, Spark EV, Silverado and Silverado HD.
Most of the 2015 Chevrolet lineup in the United States and Canada will be equipped with the 4G LTE upon vehicle launch. Chevrolet stated that there will be more vehicles to be added later this year.
Chevrolet is expected to implement the 4G LTE technology in more vehicles than any other manufacturer in the automotive industry.

Chevrolet also went on to explain that the 4G LTE rollout will deliver built-in Wi-Fi hotspots to the majority of Chevy vehicles. Additionally, all vehicles will be capable of syncing multiple devices simultaneously.
With this breakthrough development, Chevrolet is acknowledging that customers have the desire to be connected everywhere and supplied with the information and connectivity with zero interruptions.
As a result of Chevrolet’s 4G LTE developments, they will offer customers MyLink, which is an enhancement of the built in AppShop. This feature is going to be available on select 2015 Chevrolet models in North America. AppShop will be vastly improved due to the embedded 4G LTE connectivity.
Chevrolet is devoted to improving the OnStar service so the this service will continue to be a viable option for GM drivers. McLoughlin Chevy in Portland, Oregon is expected to carry 2015 Chevy vehicles with this new feature.
