Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 15, 2014
Radius Networks, Inc., the leading provider of mobile proximity services, today announced that its RadBeacon Tag Bluetooth Smart™ proximity beacon with iBeacon technology has been certified by the Industry Canada (IC) and European Community (CE) regulatory agencies, and is now available for worldwide sale and distribution. The RadBeacon Tag provides proximity services for mobile applications that are compatible with iBeacon microlocation technology and is powered by a user-replaceable coin-cell battery so that it can be flexibly installed in any location, regardless of available power.
Proximity beacons with iBeacon technology are short range, low power, Bluetooth Smart transmitters that can notify mobile devices when they come within 100 feet of the beacon. This micro-location proximity awareness can be leveraged to deliver a wide range of new innovative solutions, such as precision indoor navigation, automatic ticketing, guided museum tours, and location-relevant offers and promotions.
“The RadBeacon Tag proximity beacon is lightweight, small in size, and easy to deploy. It’s the perfect beacon for conferences, trade shows, and other events where power may not be readily available and ultimate flexibility in placement is most important. By achieving these certifications, the RadBeacon Tag is now available for our international customers who have been requesting access to this industry-leading product,” said David Helms, Chief Product Officer at Radius Networks.
"Providing proximity beacons in the widest range of form factors and power options is key to our product strategy, and we are really excited that we can now offer the RadBeacon Tag to our international customers,” said Marc Wallace, CEO or Radius Networks. “WIth over 50,000 users of Radius Networks' RadBeacon proximity beacons, developer tools, ProximityKit cloud services, and mobile SDKs, Radius Networks is the market leader in the enabling technologies that help developers deliver mobile application proximity solutions.”
