I’m glad Master Lloyd had the confidence in me to coach her. She did an amazing job out there and I’m proud of her for taking home the gold.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 14, 2014

Lloyd Irvin, renowned coach and head instructor of Lloyd Irvin’s Martial Arts Academy in Camp Springs, MD, promoted his student Sijara Eubanks to black belt on June 4, 2014. Eubanks, who’s been training under Lloyd Irvin since November 2008, has gone from white belt to black belt under the tutelage and instruction of Lloyd Irvin.

Eubanks was expecting to make her black belt competitive debut at the IBJJF NY Summer Open; however, registration closed early due to a high number of athletes. Eubanks will now have to wait to make her black belt Gi debut, but in the meantime she made her black belt coaching debut on July 5th and 6th in Las Vegas, NV.

Team Lloyd Irvin fellow female black belt, Nyjah Easton, was invited to compete at The Ultimates Grapplers Quest Submission Only Tournament, which took place at the UFC Fan Expo at the Mandalay Bay Event Center. Easton was one of 16 women to compete.

The Lloyd Irvin black belts held their own in Vegas. Easton easily cruised to the finals with Eubanks coaching her through her matches. For the finals match, Easton had a tough opponent in Jessy Miele, but Eubanks was in her corner and actually on a cell phone live with Master Lloyd Irvin. Easton went on to armbar Meile at the 18-minute mark of the finals match to win The Ultimates Sub Only Tournament.

“It was great getting the chance to come out to Vegas with Nyjah [Easton]. I’m glad Master Lloyd had the confidence in me to coach her. She did an amazing job out there and I’m proud of her for taking home the gold,” says Eubanks.
